•Less time for nonsense and drama. (See image above.)
•Be consistent. You will move ahead just by showing up every day and doing the work, whatever that is. Good things really do take time and persistence.
•Understanding that we cannot control another person's behavior. Only our own.
• Not caring as much what other people think. As I have gotten older I am more comfortable with who I am. It’s just too exhausting to care too much.
•Getting worked up over something stupid. Let it go! Remember the phrase “This too shall pass.” Give it time and don’t stress over the small stuff.
•Giving unwanted or unsolicited advice. Unless someone asks, keep your mouth shut for the most part. Most people don't appreciate unsolicited advice.
•Not sticking to my guns. In other words allowing others to dictate my decision-making process and not having enough confidence in myself to go with what I believe. Not so much anymore.
•Saying things out loud that perhaps I should've kept to myself. I pride myself on being authentic, but sometimes I say things that are too blunt and unintentionally hurtful.
•Not stopping to smell the roses. I sometimes rush from one task to the next, trying to check off my never-ending to-do list without pausing to appreciate the moment. I have learned to be more mindful of this. This may sound like a bumper sticker but it’s true—life is a journey, not a destination. It’s OK to slow the fuck down!
•Really listening before responding. Many people, myself included, are just waiting for their turn to talk. With age, I've learned to listen more and speak less.
With age comes wisdom about almost everything. I think I believed I had the world by the tail when I was younger, but boy was I wrong. Let me know something you have learned with age in the comments.
Now it’s time for TOTD. If you or someone you know is having a heart attack, (this becomes more of a possibility with age) take one 325 mg or two 81 mg tablets of aspirin. It can help stop the blood clot that is causing the heart attack. Be sure to chew the aspirin—don’t swallow it. Chewing it helps the body absorb it faster.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading. Like it if you do! Much Love, Sabrina
Great advice - although I believe that age comes with wisdom sometimes attached.
Judge a man by what he finishes not what he starts.
