The clitoris. What an amazing organ. It has one function, and one function only--pleasure! I know it’s a bit confusing for men from what I can tell. There is so much going on down there! For men it's so much simpler. Just a penis which is for sexual pleasure, reproductive and excretive. All in one!
I used to think the clitoris was the G spot but apparently it's part of the “clitoral network.” A really complex network. Check it out…
I can’t even pronounce some of these parts! They left out the G Spot on this one but it does exist. There are 8,000 to 10,000 nerve endings in the clitoris and they reach down into different parts of the vagina. So the G spot is on the anterior wall of the vagina and it's like a pea or maybe nickel sized spot, which feels kind of rough if you touch it. I just found this myself about five years ago. I had no idea! One time in college, I was going out with some friends and one of them had left her purse open and I saw something like 5 tampons. So I asked her why so many? She said because she peed a lot. I said you don’t have to remove your tampon when you pee, it’s a different hole. She did not know that. I couldn’t believe it.
So the G Spot. At first if you rub it, it makes you feel like you have to go pee. Then if you keep doing it you can orgasm. Or at least I did:) Before I only could achieve orgasm through the clitoris. The clitoral orgasm is better than the vaginal one for me. Anyway it’s all connected. Apparently pigs and cats have their G spots inside their vaginas. Lucky them.
Can you believe in 1948, in the 25th edition of Gray's Anatomy, they removed the clitoris completely. Wtf? And Sigmund Freud, said that clitoral orgasms were immature and "vaginal orgasms" mature. He’s not a woman. Wtf again! This time WTF!
In the early 1900s, doctors would give women pelvic massages which included clitoral stimulation with vibrators to treat female hysteria. They called an orgasm an “hysterical paroxysm.” If the patient got “relieved” after the treatment then that meant the treatment was successful and that she would no longer have this hysteria. Apparently there were lines of women out the door to get the treatment more than once!
I read about this doctor that did operations on women to move the clitoris into the vagina. I don't think people should be messing with that. That's just in my opinion. Obviously it's my opinion because I'm writing this. So I thought about why it is that our clitoris is separate from the vagina and I think it's because both men and women would be having sex all the time. According to the Internet, the clitoris is a small, sensitive part of the female genitalia at the anterior wall of the vulva. That's a mouthful. It's the female equivalent of a penis. It comes from the Greek word kleitoris, which has been translated as both “little hill” and “to rub.” I've recently started talking to my friends about the clitoral versus vaginal orgasm. I don't know why I've never spoken with them about this before. Most of my friends say that they cannot have an orgasm from intercourse alone. The Internet says only 18% of women report that they can reach an orgasm from penetration alone. Who knows how they come up with the statistics but it's probably correct. So I figured out about the G spot, and I did it to myself and the orgasm was not as good as the clitoral one. It's almost like the clitoris is the tree trunk and the G spot is just a branch. These stupid Hollywood movies and porn videos make it look like a woman is having a mind blowing orgasm from being pounded over and over. I don't think that's what's going on. Yes, being pounded is good sometimes but for me, it’s a different kind of pleasure than clitoral. If I don't orgasm during sex does not mean that I don't like it. Sometimes I can't connect the two. This must be so confusing for men. I think the best way is for men to ask women to masturbate in front of them so that they can see what they're doing. Unfortunately, some people don't feel comfortable enough to do that; even married couples. You have to really trust your partner in order to do that. For me, it's all in the head. If the guy talks to me in a certain way, I like that! Sometimes the 2 connect—the feeling you get from making out and your clitoral feeling. I think we are all wired differently.
So the clitoris is basically a little penis. The woman's just does not get formed into a penis in utero. This guy I dated once asked me if a woman had to have an orgasm in order to have a baby. Crazy right? And then when I was like 16 I went on this teen tour across the United States, and this guy asked me if I liked having a tampon in me. Did it make me sexually aroused. I was a virgin then and I told him I think there has to be some action down there because I don’t even feel the tampon after it’s inserted.
It's so interesting how people really just don't talk about a woman’s anatomy and they just don’t know. It feels like the clitoris is a taboo subject. I don't know that I've ever really discussed it with any of my friends until recently. I do remember in school I asked one of my friends something about it, and she didn't even know what the clitoris was. And she never had an orgasm. I couldn't believe it. I'm open about a lot of things but I'm not going to show my friend how to have an orgasm through masturbation. It's just too much for me. It's hard enough for me to do it with any man I've had sex with.
The clitoris is about 3 inches long. There is a hood which is like the foreskin of the penis. It's strange that male circumcision is so common in the United States but it's not in other parts of the world. I'm Jewish and I know that that is a mainstay of Judaism, but it seems to me to be an antiquated practice. Can you imagine cutting off the head of the clitoris. Unfortunately in a lot of parts of the world they do perform female circumcision. It's pretty sick. Wow, I just looked on the Internet which I try to to do so much when writing but I did and it says that more than 200 million women alive today have undergone female, genital mutilation. That’s not just the hood, it’s the whole organ. That is so sick and wrong. I can't believe it.
Back to the clit. Sometimes when I watch a hot movie I’ll feel like a contraction in my clit. I’ve watched porn but it’s gotten so over the top. I like a sexy movie where it’s more in my mind and imagination. It’s amazing how you can feel it there and inside your whole body. What a feeling! I can’t believe I figured out how to stimulate it to have an orgasm at age 6! I have no idea how that happened. I’m just so glad it did. #TheClitoris
